ForgeClan vs a general AI chatbot
Understand when a general AI chatbot is enough and when ForgeClan’s preview, versions, hosting and Store save you setup work.
A chatbot can write a game
If you already know how to run, debug and host code, a general AI chatbot may be enough. ForgeClan does not claim to be the only way to build a game with AI.
The pieces around the code
ForgeClan adds a playable preview, saved project versions, follow-up prompting, a hosted link and a Store listing. Built-in ForgeClan sign-in and scoped storage are available while your game stays hosted here. With a general chatbot, you arrange those pieces yourself.
Ownership is not the same as portability
You can export your ForgeClan source and uploaded assets. Steam export is coming soon. Cloud saves, multiplayer, payments and player accounts do not transfer automatically. GitHub export is coming soon. Whatever tool you use, check third-party licenses and test the finished game.
